This dataset is generated from the records for specimens housed at the Fish and Wildlife Research institute (FWRI) in St. Petersburg, FL. As a division of the State of Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), FWRI houses voucher specimens supporting the research and monitoring efforts of FWC staff and other state agencies, as well as depositions from academic researchers and industrial projects. The samples are largely restricted geographically to the waters in and around Florida, USA. Sampling events primarily span from the 1950s through the present.
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 141,197 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
